Eco-Tourism

If you don’t already know what I mean by eco-tourism, I should probably begin by giving a short description. It is a type of tourism which takes you to places where an ecological preservation effort is being undertaken. As an eco-tourist, you get to help with the efforts, helping to catalogue any changes in the environment, and the changes in animal population. Now, this may sound a little dull, unless this type of thing interests you, but it actually gives you a lot of access to places, sights, and animals that you otherwise would not have. So, to summarise, you get a great holiday, where you spend part of your time leisurely, and another part of the time contributing to much needed conservationist programs. These types of holidays are available for applicants, on virtually every continent on the planet. So you could find yourself, for instance, scuba diving, and collecting data about turtle habits and populations, or you could find yourself traipsing through the Amazon or the Congo, recording data on the animals there.
